Which Paddle Generation is Right for Your Game? (Power vs Control)

ApexonSport’s pickleball paddle product line is designed to meet the needs of every player. Discover how our Gen 1 through Gen 4 series have evolved in terms of construction, feel, control, and power, helping you select the perfect paddle.

GEN 1 (Wood)

GEN 1 paddles started with solid wood. Through basic cutting and layering, , they are no longer in the mainstream market.

GEN 2 (Cold-pressed + PP)

Gen 2 introduced the polymer honeycomb (PP) core with a fiberglass or carbon fiber face. Cold-pressed into the classic “sandwich” build, they offer a soft, forgiving feel with easy control. Perfect for beginners, but lacking offensive power.

GEN 3 (Thermoformed + PP + Foam-injected)

Gen 3 paddles are thermoformed into a single piece. Foam-injected edges enhance durability, expand the sweet spot, and dampen vibration for a stable, comfortable hit. This build boosts power while maintaining good control, suiting intermediate players.

GEN 4 (Thermoformed + PP + Foam-injected + TFP)

Gen 4 enhances the design with TFP technology, injecting high-density foam into the junction of the handle and paddle face. With upgraded materials, it dramatically increases power while striking a perfect balance of power and control, making smashes and drives feel effortless.

GEN 4 (Thermoformed + TruFoam)

Gen 4 full-foam paddle features a hot-pressed, unibody foam structure that tackles the two biggest flaws of traditional honeycomb paddles: inconsistent power and fragility. This new design delivers focused energy, pinpoint control, extreme durability, and a massive sweet spot. Furthermore, a unique surface material generates significantly more spin and ball grip.

Thermofroming Manufacturing Process

Unlike cold-press paddles, our thermoformed paddles are thermally pressed for unrivaled durability. Foam-sealed edges deliver a softer touch and superior control for pinpoint accuracy, making these paddles the ultimate choice for serious intermediate and advanced players.

1. Material Preparation

Cut honeycomb core to the correct paddle size. Wrap carbon fiber fabric onto the paddle, flip it, and apply another piece of carbon fiber fabric.

2. Sealing Treatment

Apply foam tape around the paddle edge for sealing. This tape expands under high temperatures to create a structural seal and cushioning.

3. Multi-Layer Wrapping

Continue wrapping multiple layers of carbon fiber, ensuring the paddle handle is also covered. The entire paddle is now ready for high-temperature pressing.

4. High-Temperature Pressing

Place the paddle into equipment at 180°C for 30 minutes of hot pressing to guarantee the paddle’s stability during use.

5. Finishing & Surface Treatment

Conduct complex procedures including trimming the edges, grinding, applying the base coat, custom decals, and final topcoat spraying.

6. Assembly, Inspection, and Packaging

Complete the process by wrapping the grip, conducting final quality inspection, and packaging, resulting in a finely crafted Pickleball Paddle.

OUR STRENGTH

The Core Advantages of Our Thermoformed Paddles

Explore thermoformed paddles by ApexonSport, engineered for lasting durability and explosive power. Our paddles provide a consistent feel with superior spin control, offering a clear performance advantage and exceptional value for your brand.

Superior Durability

Our thermoformed paddles feature a unibody construction sealed with intense heat. This process prevents delamination and withstands aggressive play, offering your brand a truly durable product.

Enhanced Power & Pop

The thermoforming process creates a uniquely stiff and reactive paddle face. This allows players to generate explosive power and a crisp “pop” with less effort, dominating the court.

Enlarged Sweet Spot

We engineer our paddles with an expanded sweet spot for maximum forgiveness. This ensures consistent performance and a solid feel, even on shots hit away from the center.

Optimized Spin & Control

A premium textured surface grips the ball for massive spin potential. The paddle’s stable, thermoformed body provides the pinpoint control needed for precise shots and winning plays.

Consistent Performance

Experience a reliable, uniform response from anywhere on the paddle face. Our technology eliminates “dead spots,” ensuring every dink, drive, and block feels consistently solid and predictable.

Customizable for Branding

As your manufacturing partner, we help bring your vision to life. We offer full customization—from paddle shape to unique graphics—to build an exclusive product line for your brand.
